RYAN'S INTERESTS

He earned his Welding "C" ticked at BCIT in 1996.  During 5 years of his high-school years, he was a member of the Argyle School Band and the North Vancouver Youth Band playing the tenor saxophone.

In 1994 he toured Austria for 3 weeks with the NV Youth Band and then spent an additional 3 weeks with his dad visiting his dad's roots (Salzburg, Vienna, Mattsee, Wallersee, Innsbruck, & Verona, Venice). He also did a few hikes in the Alps and went to an outdoor opera in Verona.

Ryan worked as a welder and fabricator in North Vancouver. In Sep/00 he had an accident in the press and lost about 3/4 cm of his right index finger.
Worked in Calgary for a while before settling in Kelowna.

In Oct/01, Ryan and his dad went on a 3 week trip to Nepal for a 14 day trek into the Himalayan mountains, reaching a high point of 5360m (17560') at Gokyo Ri on Nov 2/01. From Gokyo Ri one can see four of the worlds 12 mountains over 8000m: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Choi Oyo.
